I have been home since Thursday evening. I am doing well but I will be honest, I am also dealing with some pain. However I’m up and moving around as much as my family will allow, which helps.
My doctors have had me on a good amount of medication including two pain pumps that were inserted as catheters in my back that we’re removed today. (Boy do I miss those)
I have been resting as much as possible (as I get family lectures otherwise) and trying to take in all the family time I can get while avoiding my phone, Facebook, and computer as much as possible. I will be totally honest in that I have not had the opportunity to read all of your wonderful posts, but the few I have read have really put happy tears in my eyes and a smile on my face! I am very much looking forward to reading them all in the coming days!
With this being said I also owe a huge thank you to my husband for staying calm for me as much as possible during this crazy storm, my best friend and my Rock Sarah Keast, for being here even when she has to say nothing at all, to my dear heart-friend Vicki who not only reminds me that I am not alone but also takes time nearly every day to make me feel special and loved yet also determined and ready to fight, to my friends Alice an Emily who check in daily, to our awesome friends Jill and Joe who have brought dinner and have been helping with Corryn, to my new very good photographer friend Sam (Shuttersam) who is visually documenting my journey in amazing and artistic photos in hopes that we can inspire even one person, to my parents and in laws who have dropped everything to cook, clean and help with Corryn and our on-going renovation, to all of my amazing doctors, surgeons and nurses for giving me such amazing care while in the hospital, to my amazing friend Angie for her unwavering support, to my friend Carol who has not only walked in my shoes, but also has taken the time make/Send me a gorgeous handmade quilt, to my husbands boss and co-workers for both understanding and sending love, To my very sweet neighbors who have dropped over goodies and treats, to my brother and Amanda for making the trip down to see me, my sister and second rock Kate who is spending the week with me now, and to my sister Misty who will be here helping next week. And many many more that in sure I’m missing.
I also have to thank Jan, Jenn, and Dr. Tammy Kruezer who are a few new friends that I already love like sisters. I truly believe people come into your life for a reason and they have gathered around me at the best possible time.
Honestly the love surrounding me right now is nothing short of awe-inspiring! My house smells of gorgeous flowers and there are thoughtful cards at every turn. To say the least…. I feel very loved and hopeful at the same time. You all truly have been amazing!
